This is a farm designed to test and communicate new and transformational systems views. Its objective is to manage a tangible transition from current practices to a system designed to enhance health, including measured improvements in soil, plant, animal, human and community health. We will looking at and discussing multi-purpose adaptive foraging, functional biodiversity, phased replacement of synthetic inputs, PharmEcology: preventing disease rather than remediating, animals as a sentient beings, system digitalisation and the impacts of animal management through our food products on human health. Pablo Gregorini (our host) and the team have done extensive research in these fields and although the farm unit we are visiting is set up as a dairy system this research includes work on sheep, beef cattle and deer which will be presented during the field trip.
This field trip is part of the lecture programme, however you must register for the field trip to ensure you are counted and resources are sufficient.
