Expressions of interest

We are accepting expressions of interest to speak in the Equine Stream at the 2026 NZVA and NZVNA Conference. Submissions close on Tuesday 7 April 2026.

Submissions

Expressions of interest must be research informed and evidence based. Submissions of a sales pitch nature will not be accepted.

You will be notified on the outcome of your submission by email on Friday 17 April 2026.

Expectations

A submission indicates you are available to present at at the NZVA and NZVNA conference between 23-25 June 2026 at the New Zealand International Convention Centre, Auckland

If your submission is accepted, please be aware you:

  • Are expected to provide deliverables, including a short marketing summary, a paper (expanding on your expression of interest submission) for proceedings and a presentation.
  • will receive complimentary registration for the day you are speaking
  • will be expected to fund your own travel
  • will not be entitled to a speaker fee
  • agree to have your paper published in the conference proceedings and potentially the related Special Interest Branch publication.

You will be notified on the outcome of your submission by email on Friday 17 April 2026.
Am I limited by how many submissions I can make?
No. You can make multiple submissions.

Can I submit multiple expressions of interest under one submission?

No. If you have more than one expression of interest submission, please submit multiple submissions.

Can I submit an expression of interest with a colleague?

Yes. Please make this clear in your submission.

Can I submit an expression of interest on behalf of someone else?

Yes. Please make this clear in your submission.
Can I submit a late expression of interest?
Late expression of interest submissions will not be accepted.
I submitted an expression of interest for the 2025 NZVA and NZVNA Conference. Will my login details work?
No. If you submitted a expression of interest for the 2025 NZVA and NZVNA Conference, you will need to create a new account login to submit an expression of interest for the 2026 NZVA and NZVNA conference.
How do I edit my draft expression of interest submission?
In the submission portal:

1. Select the “My Submissions” tab.

2. Select the blue Edit button next to the submission you would like to edit.

Can I edit my expression of interest submission once submitted?
No, please email vetlearn@vets.org.nz for any changes you would like to make to your submitted expression of interest.

My submission has been accepted, do I need to present at conference?
Yes, you will be expected to present at the conference and you will advised by email of the date and time you are speaking.
My submission has been accepted, do I receive remuneration for my presentation at conference?
No, you will only be entitled to receive complimentary registration for the day/s you are speaking.
My submission has been accepted, do I receive complimentary registration?
Yes, you will receive complimentary registration for the day/s you are speaking. You will be expected to cover the cost of any additional days of registration.
My submission has been accepted, will my submission be used in the proceedings?

No, you will be expected to provide a paper of at least 500 words (excluding figures), to be used in the proceedings. 

My submission has been accepted, do I receive reimbursement for my travel to conference?
No, you will be expected to fund your own travel.
