Expressions of interest

We are now accepting expressions of interest to speak at the 2025 NZVA and NZVNA Conference.

Submissions

The closing date for submissions is Monday 13 January 2025.

The following streams are accepting submissions for expressions of interest:

  • Companion animal
  • Complementary Veterinary Medicine*
  • Dairy Cattle
  • Epidemiology, Food Safety, Animal Welfare and Biosecurity (EFAB)
  • Equine
  • Industry
  • Large Animal Veterinary Technicians
  • Lifestyle block*
  • Sheep, Beef Cattle and Deer
  • Veterinary Business
  • Veterinary Nursing

*Please be aware that Complementary Veterinary Medicine and Lifestyle block will not have dedicated streams at the conference. Expressions of interest accepted for Complementary Veterinary Medicine and Lifestyle will be integrated in to other streams.

You will be notified on the outcome of your submission by email on Friday 31 January 2025.

Themes

The Dairy Cattle stream has identified the following preferred topics and themes for their stream:

  • Applying technology in the field
  • Clinical skills – for vets young and old
  • Dairy genetics – an opportunity for vets to help farmer
  • Dairy farm efficiency and on-farm trials – progress and opportunities

The Industry stream has identified the following preferred topics and themes for their stream:

  • AMR
  • Pharmacovigilance 
  • Monoclonal antibodies
  • Availability and prescribing of medicines
  • Vaccines
  • Anthelmintic resistance

Expectations

A submission indicates you are available to present at at the NZVA and NZVNA conference between 4-6 June 2025.

In the event your submission is accepted, you will be sent a speaker agreement.

Please be aware you:

  • Are expected to provide deliverables, including a short marketing summary, a paper (expanding on your expression of interest submission) for proceedings and a presentation.
  • will receive complimentary registration for the day you are speaking
  • will be expected to fund your own travel
  • will not be entitled to a speaker fee
  • agree to have your paper published in the conference proceedings and potentially the related Special Interest Branch publication.
