MPI Epidemiology Professional Development – Training Programme to enhance New Zealand's capability in veterinary epidemiology.

Each year MPI sponsors an applied epidemiology
online course delivered jointly by Massey University and Melbourne University,
providing a great opportunity for advanced professional development in
veterinary epidemiology.
Selected participants include 20 Veterinarians from New Zealand and Internationally.
The course runs from 8 May to 3
December 2023 and comprises of 25 weeks of online training and one week of face-to-face teaching in November 2023. The online component requires a weekly
learning time of approximately 10 hours per week.
Learning outcomes
The course provides a professional development opportunity for those who need or are keen to grow epidemiological skills and learn how those are applied in an operational context, for example during a response to an emerging animal disease.
The strength of the programme is a diverse mix of participants including government, industry, private practice and international. The aims of the program are:
Tutors
Tutors will include experienced Epidemiologists from Massey University, Melbourne University and the Ministry for Primary Industries.
Cost
The course is free (excluding travel and accommodation to the practical workshop in November 2023).
