Jet Park Hotel, 63 Westney Road, Māngere, Auckland 2022

Description

Veterinary acupuncture can be an effective, fulfilling and profitable addition to veterinary practice. Join renowned Chicago veterinarian Dr Barbara Royal to learn how and when to incorporate acupuncture into your treatment protocols.

This lively lecture will cover the scientific basis for veterinary acupuncture, as well as the top 10 conditions that benefit from acupuncture and practical advice on how to learn this fascinating medical tool. Dr Royal’s wealth of cases – from dogs and cats to camels and meerkats – provide interesting insights and practical advice. Her extensive experience with acupuncture distils the essentials in integrating this therapy with mainstream veterinary medicine.

With over 25 years in a busy practice, Dr Royal underscores the growing trend of integrative health care in veterinary practice, and provides internships and education for interested veterinarians through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT).

This presentation will serve as a foundation for veterinarians interested in the acupuncture course to be hosted later in 2025 by NZVA, in collaboration with CIVT.
